Try these simple home remedies to soothe your soar throat –
- Warm water gargles with salt added in it is the best remedy for sore throat. Do this 3-4 times a day especially in the morning and at night before going to bed.
- Bring a cup of milk to boil, add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric) and salt in it.
Drink this twice daily to soothe your throat. - Add a drop of eucalyptus oil in boiling water and take steam covering your head. This is also a very effective remedy for sore throat.
- To soothe the throat drink herbal teas using different herbs like saga, thyme, peppermint, ginger, mint leaves, tea leaves, holy basil, pepper and honey. Drinking just ½ cup of this tea will help to soothe your throat.
- Avoid cold water/cold foods, sour, spicy, oily/fried foods, carbonated drinks, alcohol or cigarette as they further tend to irritate the throat. Instead have hot vegetable soups or chicken broths to soothe your throat.
