An intra uterine device can cause many changes in the menstrual cycle, but since you have removed it one year back it is unusual to get your periods for one year. Consult a specialist to know the exact cause for lack of menstrual periods and the different kinds of discharge as the treatment would follow accordingly.

You can try the following remedies to regularize your menstrual periods -

  • To facilitate menstruation include asafoetida in your normal diet (it is known to increase the secretion of the female hormone, progesterone).

Simply fry asafoetida in a tsp of clarified butter and it to buttermilk or a soup.
  • Take an infusion of ginger sweetened with sugar. This remedy often helps to regularize menstrual periods.
  • Add fenugreek sprouts and sesame seeds in your vegetables, breads or salads to regulate menstrual cycle.
  • Have protein and iron rich foods, besides include white pumpkin, papaya, drumstick, snake gourd, bitter gourd and cucumber in your diet as these are good for dysmenorrheal.
  • Don't take any medicines without a prescription.
