Acidity in the stomach can be a serious concern and needs to be treated and controlled as soon as you find out. There are many causes for stomach acids and the best way to cure it is to counter the causes. Eating too much of food when the stomach is not used to it can lead to acidity in the stomach.
Other causes could also be stress related, most of the time when the mind is troubled or disturbed the stomach gets affected as it impairs the digestive process. Erratic eating is one of the most popular causes for acidic reflux. Eating large meals, not giving a proper gap between your meal and bed times, too much of greasy and fast foods, smoking, drinking alcohol or too many aerated drinks can also lead to acidity. Changing from your current diet to an acidity diet would be able to help to curb the rising acidity in your stomach. An acid stomach diet is one that is mainly rich in green vegetables and lean meats, non spicy and low fat foods are the best for such a diet. Stomach acid diets should ideally include a lot of salads with mild dressing; a fair portion of soups should also be included. A diet for acidity should also include some fruit juices which will help to soothe your stomach. If you are taking anti depressants or anti stress medication then it is best to stop such medication when you try to change to your acidity diet. Other than this you could also include some natural cure as part of your diet for acidity. While you eat your dinner mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water and continue to sip it as you go through your meal. You could also chew on a small piece of ginger root after your meal or even buy some ginger root capsules from a store. Inclusion of ginger in your acidity diet would be very helpful in avoidance as well as treatment of acidity. Fennel seeds also facilitate digestion and are good to ease stomach cramps. Though they may be different to taste you could chew on a few seeds after a meal or boil some seeds in some water and drink that water. Herbal tea is said to have a very soothing effect on the stomach therefore it is best to avoid caffeine and switch to herbal teas. Teas like chamomile, lavender or green tea with a dash of honey have been known for their effectiveness to control acidity of the stomach. Before planning your acidity diet it would also help if you consult your doctor on the same, especially if it includes you stopping or taking some medications.
