Remedies for Polycystic ovaries

There are two main nutritional components that cause ovarian cysts to develop and multiply. These are foods that are high in estrogen and foods that have very carbohydrates consumption. A high amount of estrogen is generated when one consumes foods that are ample in estrogen, which in turn give rise to the growth of cysts. Consuming high carb foods causes rapid weight gain and estrogen usually finds its way into fat cells and remains there, and to get rid of it is a difficult task. Reduce or better still, do away with foods that are high in estrogen rich foods.

Echinacea and milk thistle are effective herbs used in the treatment of ovarian cysts. While Echinacea fosters the immune system it also has the capability of enhancing the count of the white blood corpuscles and increasing it activity. Abnormal cells thus are better targeted with the boost in the immune system. Milk thistle on the other hand is a significant herb that acts as a tonic for the liver. It aids in removing the physiological effects of the toxic build which means that abnormal cells will be in the body, especially in the ovaries and eliminates excess hormones. Organic supplements of these herbs are vital for health.

Hormonal changes that accompany PCOS are excessive hair growth on the face or body, recurrent miscarriages, abnormal weight gain, mood swings, irregular or absent periods, severe and virulent acne, difficulty in conceiving, and in rare cases, male pattern balding. PCOS may also lead to conditions such as overt diabetes, high blood pressure, blood clots, heart disease and uterus cancer. In order to prevent the overt symptoms of the disorder that you are experiencing, it is important that you consult your physician in order to follow a regular course of medication. Insulin resistance has been identified as one of the key features of the syndrome. One of the most significant changes in your body could be due to irregular blood sugar levels that are in a constant state of flux. You need to follow a proper pattern of diet and exercise in order to bring your blood sugar under control and normalize it. This will arrest further body hair growth. Another option is acupressure which can help in restoring the body's oestrogen levels. You will need a professional consultation for this, however. The only known effective herbal remedy for this particular problem is consumption of Winter cherry, an Ayurvedic herb that is known for its healing powers in matters that concern the female reproductive cycle.
