Fibroid treatments

Fibroids are growth of solid muscle tissue grown in the uterus. The causative factor of fibroids remains unidentified. Uterine fibroids or leiomyomas are irregularities, which occur commonly in women.

The size of a fibroid, also referred to as myomas or fibroid tumors, ranges from that of a walnut to as high as hundred pounds. Hysterectomy helps in decreasing the vulnerability to fibroids. Larger the size, greater is its treatment.

Acupressure is an effective remedy for fibroids, as the unexpressed anger accumulated is let out. It also aids in decreasing the size of the fibroids. Fibroid size is reduced by the intake of three or more servings of beans, cereals and whole grains. Metabolism of estrogen is triggered by consumption of milk thistle seed, yellow dock root or dandelion. These herbs also enhance the power of the liver. Pain caused by fibroids is relieved by the topical application of poke root (Phytolacca americana). It is also taken internally in the dosage of 1 to 10 drops per day. A compress made with hot ginger water or warm castor oil packs are useful, when placed on the stomach. Avoid the usage of contraceptive pills and hormone replacement therapy. Go for organic foods.
