Folliculitis treatment
Infection of the hair follicles resulting in inflammation is referred to as folliculitis. Staphylococcus aureus is the culprit behind this infection. Fungal infection is also identified to be a cause.
Damage to the hair follicles or abrasion of the hair follicles causes folliculitis. Avoid wearing tight undergarments. Cosmetics also result in irritation and infection.
They resemble red pimples with pus. Itching and burning sensation are common. Shaving is avoided, as folliculitis is common. Deodorants are avoided and private parts and under arms are cleaned regularly with soap and water. Borax and peroxide proves to be effective remedies. Immersing the affected area with white vinegar is helpful. Avoid scratching the area and were a socks to prevent the same. Over-the-counter ointments are also considered. Leave the area to breathe by exposing the same before retiring to bed. Saturated borax solution is prepared. To a cup of this solution, a tablespoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of 3 per cent hydrogen peroxide are added. Any shampoo comprising of tea tree oil and lavender oil also prove beneficial. Supplementation of B complex vitamins is advised.
