Fever home remedies

Fever is associated with high temperature and increased metabolism. Burning sensation, headache, thrush on the tongue, loss of appetite and burning of eyes. Any presiding infection results in an body temperature elevation.


Cover with a blanket while resting as this increases perspiration, thereby flushing out toxic metabolites. Soak hundred grams each of ginger and raisins in a glass of water for an hour. Boil this decoction to one-fourth of its original contents.


Filter and drink it warm. Fever is a typical symptom of already existing diseases, such as malaria, influenza, bronchitis, pleurisy, measles and jaundice. Boiled or steamed vegetables are recommended. Avoid spicy and hot foods. Fruits and fruit juices should be taken at regular intervals. Raw foods are avoided. Bitter gourd, radish and brinjal are considered. Barley water is essential, especially in case of dehydration. Exercise, sexual intercourse and stressful activities are avoided till complete recovery. Placing a moist cloth on the forehead is recommended in case of temperature above 102 degree Fahrenheit. Garlic and cayenne are taken to d infection. Echinacea, goldenseal, yarrow and burdock are essential herbs that help in reducing temperature. Steam inhalation also proves beneficial.
