Home Remedies for Ear Wax

Your ear produces wax many times to trap dust and at times this wax gets jammed into the ear canal and causes discomfort and itchiness. This ear wax can be removed using the following home remedies:
  • Firstly, you need to irrigate earwax using warm water and a rubber ear syringe. Take water that is compatible with the body temperature.

Wash your ear thoroughly and pour drops of alcohol in your ear as alcohol absorbs moisture and will help in drying your ear.
  • If water does not work to irrigate wax, you may have to soften the ear wax. Soften the wax by pouring warm baby oil in your ear.

Warm the oil to the body temperature and place two drops twice a day. This will melt the wax and you can easily irrigate it out.
  • Another way to soften or melt the wax before you can irrigate it out is peroxide. Place few drops of peroxide in your ear and let it bubble for few minutes. This will soften your ear wax and you can then easily remove it from your ears.
  • You can also try some over the counter earwax treatments like Murine and Debrox. These are lubricant based peroxide solution and greatly influences melting and removal of wax along with trapping dry skin.
