Home Remedies for Neck Pain
Read on the following home remedies for neck pain:
- An ice bundle moved over the neck is a good remedy for neck pain and helps hold down swelling.
- You can also try heating pads and heat treatment over the neck.
- Stretching exercises and muscle toning exercises also help in easing neck pain.
- You can even take over the counter medicines like aspirin, ibuprofen and various other anti-inflammatory.
- Sit straight on a chair because backbone is connected to the neck bone. If there is any bend or pressure on the back, a similar pressure will also be stretched to the neck.
- If you don’t have a straight chair, you can simply roll a towel and place it against the small empty space between the back and chair.
- Give some time to rest your neck. Like feet gets tired of standing and hands get tired of writing, similarly, even neck gets tired and stretched out if you sit for continuously more than 4 hours.
- Avoid keeping your head lowered all the time. Keep it in level with your body posture.
- If you have anything to work on computer or video display, try and level the screen with your eye level.
- Even while picking up objects, you need to maintain the correct posture. A sudden jerk may occur in the neck, when picking heavy objects.
- Sleep on a firm mattress with your torso in an elevated position.
- Use a cervical pillow or any thin pillow that can give support to your neck as well as torso.
