Bad breath or halitosis is a result of improper oral care. It is initiated in the oral cavity. It is a major problem, commonly ignored by many.


Bad breath can be embarrassing at times. Smoking, metabolic disorders, diabetes, gastro intestinal disorders, alcoholism, tooth infection, hormonal imbalance and constipation are some of the contributing factors of bad breath or halitosis. The most easily accessible and cost effective remedy is the consumption of a raw guava.


Avocado is also an effective remedy fro bad breath. A decoction of fenugreek leaves is helpful. Fresh vegetable and fruit juices serve the purpose of relieving bad breath. Chewing a clove after meals is useful. Chewing a cardamom pod proves beneficial. Stress and anxiety regarding halitosis gives rise to psychogenic halitosis. A balanced diet with whole grains, nuts, vegetables and fruits are recommended. An apple or guava eliminates all the particles stuck to the teeth. Twigs of margosa are effective as a tooth brush in removal of trapped food particles.
