Improper sleep also gives rise to black eyes. Sleeping tablets are avoided. In case of insomnia, try sleeping a little earlier. Two tablespoon of lard or any other vegetable shortening is mixed with equal amount of salt. This is applied on the black eye as a poultice, which enhances circulation of blood. Enzymes in papaya and pineapple are effective in removing black eyes. Ice pack placed immediately after injury provides instant relief. A compress dipped in sage tea might prove useful. Placing a frozen egg on the area of infection helps. Place your head in an elevated level, thereby improving blood flow. A light massage under the eye, before retiring to bed id helpful.
