Boils are contagious when not treated well.

Boils are basically round, pus-filled bumps caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria infection on the skin. These are common in children and adolescents.

Boils are red, tender and painful swelling filled with pus on the skin. A boil never opens without the treatment or remedy. The perfect treatment opens the boils and drain out the pus effectively to reduce the pain and curb the bacterial infection.

You have to be very careful as boils are contagious when draining the pus. In real terms, the skin boils are not infectious but the pus within it is infectious. If you have a habit of itching or scratching, you can experience the occurrence of boil in other areas of the skin as well. It rapidly spreads in crowded places, unhygienic situations or where people usually share towels and clothes. Keep yourself clean and tidy or else you have one more boil in some other body part.

Ensure that other members of your house don't use the same towels, clothes or bed sheets that you are using.  Throw away all the bandages with pus carefully in a dustbin to avoid spread of infection.

Boil is highly contagious but the spread of bacterial infection can be wisely prevented.
