Peeling skin remedies

My aunt has peeling hands and fingers, they hurt and itch all day. She's been to doctors and they have even injected her on the fingers, but nothing seems to help her. What could she do? Thanks...

Peeling skin is a symptom to any skin diseases rather a disorder. It is a temporary affair as this condition gets healed once new skin is formed. Peeling skin can happen due to genetic disorder called peeling skin syndrome which leads to continuous peeling of the skin with reddishness and itching, perspiration, viral and bacterial infection, sunburn, hand eczema leading to rashes and itching due to use of harsh soaps and detergents, psoriasis, overdose of Vitamin A leading to peeling of skin and extremely cold and dry climate.

Certain home remedies to cure peeling skin are:-
  • Have a well balanced diet with correct quantities of all the basic nutrients as each and every nutrient can work favorably towards maintaining a healthy skin.
  • Avoid scratching of the peeled skin as it can aggravate the situation.
  • Use mild moisturizers rather harsh soaps or detergents.
  • Do not pull out the peeled skin as it can be painful. Instead cut the loose ends of the peels with scissors.
  • Avoid taking bath in hot water as it can remove the natural oils present under the skin. Drink plenty of water in order to maintain the fluid balance in the body.
