Gray hair treatment Premature graying of hair can affect both men and women. The hair color is determined by hair pigment called melanocytes present in the hair follicle. With age, this pigment may stop working and hence the new hair that grows will have no pigment and tend to gray.
Certain conditions can result in premature graying of hair like thyroid disorders, Vitamin B 12 deficiency anemia that take place due to low intake of Vitamin B12 rich foods like meat, milk and eggs, Person suffering from vitilgo which is a disorder leading to loss of melanin in the skin resulting in formation of white patches that spreads all over the body, cigarette smoking.
Premature graying of hair can be prevented if we treat the problem from within.Drink lots of water up to 8 to 10 glasses per day.
Consume foods rich in iron like green leafy vegetables, liver, pulses. Seafoods contain zinc, protein and iodine that can keep the hair healthy and avid graying of hair. Consume foods rich in Vitamin B and C like whole grain cereal, pulses, eggs, milk, meat and citrus fruits as it strengthen the hair and make it healthy.
Rosemary oil can be beneficial. Soak rosemary leaves and few basil leaves in jojoba oil for 4 weeks. Apply this oil on the scalp after the oil is warmed. You can also boil few tea leaves in water and apply this solution in the hair to give a color. Certain hair care treatment can be useful like massage your with oil for 45 minutes, regular shampooing and conditioning , remove dandruff if present, avoid using hair dryers, avoid stress and tension if possible.
