Some of the best ways to treat boils come from your kitchen. Before I get into these treatments, let's cover some “boil basics”. When you have a boil, it is important to keep the area clean and disinfected.
Due to the location of your boil, it would probably be best to avoid putting deodorant or antiperspirant on to this area until the boil is healed. As soon boil starts to drain, you'll want to take showers or at least thoroughly wash the area several times a day. Now, onto the part about getting the boil to drain:
- Create a compress by using a thick slice of raw tomato and pressing it directly on to the boil for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, three times per day.
- Create a compress by using 2 cloves of mashed up garlic. Again, apply this directly to the boil. Garlic is very powerful against boils, so only use this twice per day and for 10 to 15 minutes to avoid getting burns on the skin from the juice of the garlic.
- Create a compress by crushing up the thick outer leaves of cabbage until they are moist. Then apply them to the boil for 45 minutes to 1 hour three times per day.
These remedies, while simple, are very effective and you will be amazed at how quickly they work.
