Blood pressure remedy

Firstly, it isn't clear whether you're referring to high blood pressure (hypertension) or low blood pressure (hypotension). Since most people colloquially use the term “blood pressure” to mean hypertension, I'll assume that this is what you are asking about. Hypertension refers to abnormally and chronically high blood pressure.

Treating it naturally and non-medically primarily requires major lifestyle changes — exercise, diet, controlling stress, and cutting down (or better still, discontinuing) smoking and drinking.

The first steps you should take to address a hypertension problem are to lose weight and exercise regularly. Obesity is a major factor in the incidence of hypertension. Even relatively minor reductions in weight have observable benefits. At the same time, exercise helps improve blood flow and stabilize blood pressure. Remember, however, that it is probably best to avoid strenuous exercise – stick to activities like jogging.

Secondly, reduce your intake of salt. A large number of patients find that this reduces their blood pressure. Eat more fruits and vegetables and cut down or cut out the meat and eggs. Stick to low-fat or fat free dairy products. Increase your intake of calcium and potassium.

Third, cut down or stop using tobacco and alcohol. A small amount of alcohol a day quite likely helps maintain a healthy level of blood pressure, but any more than that is detrimental. If you find you can't be disciplined about it, it's better to stop it completely.

Finally, rest. Sleep well, avoid stress, and generally try to be relaxed and cheerful.
