Psoriasis treatment Due to the chronic recurrent nature of psoriasis and the limited understanding of the causes of the disease, treatment tends to be difficult, no matter what approach you use. There are however a wide variety of treatments available. Many treatments work for some patients and not for others, and often do not even work for the same patient twice.
As with most illnesses a healthy lifestyle contributes greatly to keeping the illness under control, if not entirely curing it. Maintain a healthy diet with enough fruits and vegetables, be moderate with your consumption of alcohol and caffeine, get enough rest, exercise, and sunlight, and generally avoid stress. If you are overweight, slim down.
This tends to ease the discomfort, and also seems to improve the condition. Many psoriasis patients report significant relief from exposure to sun and from swimming in sea water. Sea water contains thousands of minerals and life forms that seem to be beneficial. You should also regularly moisturize your skin, in particular immediately after bathing, while your skin is still moist. Moisturizing reduces inflammation, and keeps flaking and scaling relatively unnoticeable and under control. At the same time, you should be careful with the other cosmetics and skin care products that you use, including soaps.
