Diaper Rash Home Remedies Persistent usage of diapers affects the buttocks of the infant, causing diaper rash. They are red rashes, which calls for immediate attention. Herbal rash free creams are helpful at times.
Washing the affected area with cold running water is effective. Avoid changing the regular brand of diapers, as allergy is common. Acidic foods or juices are better avoided. Blowing warm hair on the affected area helps. A paste of petroleum jelly with cornstarch provides relief. Topical application of olive oil relieves the child of diaper rash. Aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil and garlic oil are effective remedies. Keeping them naked with some talcum powder for a few minutes, before going in for the next change is helpful. Cloth diapers used requires proper washing. Harmful detergents affect the child in turn. Milk of magnesia is a good remedy, as it decreases the burning sensation. Dry roast any flour, till it is golden brown and dust it on the baby's back, prior to every change. Olive oil whisked with water and applied also proves useful. Application of margosa paste has a soothing effect and proves beneficial, due to its bacteriostatic property. Alcohol containing solutions are better avoided.
