Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds to a glass of boiling water. Let the water boil slowly for some time. Once cooled, the concoction must be strained and had for a number of times during the day.
While the water has been kept to boil along with the cumin seeds, a few pieces of dry ginger can also be added to the herbal tea. This is a perfect antidote for colds and sinus infections.
For acute sinusitis, boil a handful of pepper powder in a cup of milk along with a pinch of turmeric powder ground from fresh turmeric pods. This blend must be drunk once a day for three to four days. Also a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon powder mixed with a tablespoon of tepid honey should be had daily for the same duration. This mix is known to bring down even the most stubborn of infections related to cold. The immune system and white blood corpuscles become stronger by having honey regularly. It helps in fighting with bacteria and viral infections. For nasal relief add a few drops of eucalyptus oil in hot water and take a steam inhalation of the aromatic water for at least three times a day. A generous helping of fresh gooseberry juice mixed with a teaspoon of fresh or dried ginger helps to control the sinus infection and prevent recurrence.
