Insect bite natural treatment

My father-in-law refuses to see the doctor. He was bit by a brown recluse and the wound is infected. There is a hole above his elbow. What can we use to cure it?

There are many insects that can bite and sting leading to serious reactions in the body. Mild symptoms like reddishness, swelling, itching to serious ones like difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness and death can take place because of the bite. More than the bite what the insect leaves behind in the skin like venom after the bite is what that needs attention.

Natural remedies that can cure the bite are :-
  • Clean the affected area and remove the stinger. Do not squeeze the area as it can cause seeping of the venom in the body.
  • Mix 1 teaspoon lavender oil and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, apply on the affected area.
  • Apply toothpaste on the injured area
  • Take 2 to 3 leaves of jewel weed, crush the leaves to make the juice. Apply the juice on the affected area. This can bring relief from the pain.
  • Bromelin, an enzyme present in pineapple, can be used as topical application for reducing swelling due to insect bite.
  • Placing a slice of raw onion is beneficial.
  • Arnica (Arnica Montana) can bring relief from inflammation due to insect bite. This herb is used as topical application.
