Stomach cramps can be many a time due to gas in the stomach.

Try the following home remedies to reduce gas as well as stomach cramps- 

  • Keep a check of the foods that cause gas, some of these foods include sprouts, beans, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, onion, apples, pears, peaches, whole wheat bread, muffins, beer, milk, ice cream, carbonated beverages and soda.
  • Cut down the amount of fried fatty foods and high fiber foods for few days as these foods can often worsen gas.


  • Eat small frequent meals, and chew your food slowly and thoroughly before gulping it down.
  • A mild walk will help reduce the muscle tension, improve blood circulation in the pelvic region and also elevate your mood thereby reducing the cramps. Stretching exercises or yoga can also work well.


     
  • Boil fresh ginger root in water to make an herbal tea. Ginger will help to alleviate the cramps.
  • If the cramps are too sever heating pad or a warm compress applied on the lower back or on the belly would also help.
