Follow these general healthy tips that would help improve your child’s nutrition -
- Give them small frequent and healthy meals instead of 2 large meals. Never skip his breakfast as it is considered the brain food for growing children. Try to include variety like cereals, nuts, milk and milk products and fruits in his morning meals.
- Omega-3 fatty acid is considered very healthy for the brain development of a child. Include foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids which include flaxseeds and fatty fish (mackerels, tuna and sardines).
- It is obvious that as other children, fast foods and junk food might be your child’s favorite. But it depends on you how to teach him the lessons of a good diet and minimize the consumption of junk.
- Keep healthy snacks or fresh fruits handy for him during his hunger pangs. This will not only make his diet healthy but also avoid him indulging in wrong eating habits.
- If eating vegetables is a problem then try to incorporate them in hidden form like in burger cutlets, noodles, pancakes, parathas or rice.
