Honey and lemon tea is a very beneficial drink that not only tastes good but also has many health benefits. Honey and lemon taken in combination works very well as it creates an infusion of sweetness and sourness that is very appealing to the taste buds. Honey by itself is a wonderful natural product, the health benefits of which are innumerable.
It is a valuable source of carbohydrates which boosts energy and provides strength to the body. Honey contains glucose which is absorbed very quickly in the body and converted into energy. It also regulates the sugar content in the blood and enhances the functioning of the immune system. Lemon builds up the immunity of the body and protects against infection and disease. It also purifies the blood and cleanses the system. It is effective in alleviating kidney problems and is also used to treat many skin infections. Honey and lemon used together consists of several anti-bacterial, anti-viral and antioxidant properties that fend off ailments such as colds, sore throat and flu.
Honey lemon tea can be made very easily. Take a cup of water, a teaspoonful of lemon juice, a couple of teaspoons of honey and some tea leaves. Place the water on the stove and once it boils, add the tea leaves and allow it to simmer for a minute or two. Pour the tea in a cup and add the honey to it. You can then add the lemon juice. You may also use a slice of lemon instead of lemon juice, in which case you can allow the lemon slice to soak into the tea for a while. Stir the tea so that the lemon and honey mix well together. You can also prepare the tea in a microwave oven, by placing a cup of water in the oven, and then adding tea leaves and honey after heating it for a couple of minutes. The lemon can then be added and stirred well.
You can drink honey lemon tea at any time of the day. However, drinking it in the morning is very helpful as it provides a burst of energy. If taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, it is beneficial in cleansing the system and flushing out the toxins. Honey lemon tea is also very uplifting and is an effective way to relieve fatigue and tiredness and is very refreshing for the mind and body.

Honey lemon tea is one of the best ways to have tea. Not only does it taste good, but it also has a lot of health benefits. Honey and lemon blend very well together, giving the tea a very pleasant sweet and sour taste. Honey acts as a natural energy booster. It is a great source of carbohydrates that helps in providing a lot of strength. The glucose in the honey is quickly absorbed by the body to gives you an instant energy boost. Honey also helps to keep your sugar levels constant and keep your immune system healthy. Lemon too is very good for fighting diseases. It is thought to act a natural blood purifier, not only cleansing your system but also helping to relieve pain, treat kidney stones, and strengthen our immune system. Both honey and lemon, with their anti-oxidant, anti-viral and anti bacterial properties, are thought to help cure many ailments such as the flu, sore throat, and the common cold.
The tea is very simple to prepare. You would require one cup of water, two teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice or a slice of lemon, and one teaspoon sugar, which is optional. You take the water and boil it for a while, just like you would while preparing regular tea. Add some tea leaves to the water, and leave it for a while. Make sure you heat the water well, then pour the mixture into a cup and add honey to it. Now you could either add a slice of lemon, allowing it to gradually mix with honey, or you could simply add one spoon of lemon juice in the tea. Another simple way of making this tea would be by taking the water in a mug, adding honey to it and heating it in the microwave for a little less than two minutes. You then add the limejuice and stir it well till the honey is dissolved. In both methods, adding sugar is optional.
Having honey lemon tea in the morning can be very beneficial. As mentioned earlier, it gives you the required early morning boost. Also, when had on an empty stomach, the tea is thought to help cleanse the digestive system and improve its functioning. Besides these physical effects, the tea is also great in uplifting your mood. The lethargic and the tired feeling can be quickly driven away by a quick cup of honey lemon tea every morning.
