Toothache home remedies A toothache may mean things. It could either be an infection in the gums or the pulp of the tooth or a tooth decay that needs urgent attention. Or sometimes because of a food particle caught between teeth that is temporary causing unease.
Firstly try rinsing your mouth vigorously with room temperature water. If it’s a trapped food that’s causing the pain, then it can be resolved by the rinsing. Flossing gently can also help.
If the pain continues to persist, try an effective acupressure solution. Rubbing an ice cube onto the V-shaped area where the bones of the forefinger and the thumb meet is an excellent method to stop tooth ache. Such ice massages work by transmitting the rubbing pulsations along the nerve tract that the tooth ache normally goes upon. Since the nerve tracts can only carry one signal at a time, rubbing prevails over the painful sensation. An age old remedy that has still not gone out of style is the use of clove oil on the affected tooth or gum. You could either drop it directly or dab it in a little cotton gauze and place it on the ache. As simple as it may sound, clove oils are usually effective most cases.
