We feel hunger when blood sugar goes below a certain level. If we do not eat, the hunger dies down after some time in healthy people, since a certain hormone gets released and then body starts converting accumulated fat to energy. This process remains natural in those who observe fast at least once in a fortnight.


The rule of evolution follows one principle. If certain parts of body are used more, they evolve to become more efficient. On the other hand, if some parts/organs/processes are unused, the capability is lost after some time, as body feels it is unnecessary.

Since we do not do fasting normally, our ability to convert accumulated fat into energy is lost, technically a hormone which is termed "leptin" does not get secreted anymore. Hence the loss of this ability. You may note that obesity starts after hormonal imbalance, which occurs after puberty, pregnancy, childbirth etc.

The secret of loosing weight is to create hunger and do not give adequate food to body. Walking is best exercise.
