Black eyes remedies

• You can treat the black eye with the use of caster oil. To bring down the swelling  rub 1-2 drops of caster oil on the swollen part.
• The use of a frozen peas bag is also very effective in healing a black eye.
  
  
  Place the frozen bag right under the eye. This will help soothe the swelling.
• The use of an ice pack is beneficial to heal a black eye.
  
  
  Place an ice pack on the affected area. And keep it on and off the selling for upto10 minutes. You can make an ice pack by putting some ice cubes into a cotton bag.
• Consume plenty of Vitamin C in your diet or supplements. It's a well documented treatment for bruises and black eye. Vitamin C serves to speed up the process of healing.  Increase the intake of Vitamin C rich foods like broccoli, mangoes, broccoli, peppers and sweet potatoes. Eat lots of papaya and pineapple as these fruits are packed with Vitamin C. This will help accelerate the recovery.
• Apply the poultice made of the shrub Witch hazel on the affected spot. This will help in relieving the inflammation and swelling caused by the black eye. You can apply either a tincture distillation or decoction of witch hazel on the affected area.

Do not touch the nose apart from stemming the flow of blood or applying a cold compress. Most importantly the nose should not be blown. if you do so, your face could swell up really big.

There are times when the bruise cracks the bone containing the eye socket, and when you blow your nose the air that you are trying to draw out of your sinus is connected to the socket. The air gets shot in beneath your skin and causes the eyelids to balloon even more. There is also a chance of magnified infection.

Use a potato to treat a black eye. Freeze a raw potato for a while. Skin it and use a thin round slice to place it over your eyes. Use the slice while lying down. Even an ice pack works just as fine. As soon as you see your skin turning color, place an ice bag over the eyes for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove it for while and reapply for another 10 minutes. Also try dabbing a bit of castor oil on the discolored skin. A cotton ball dipped in castor oil also works very well in helping to get rid of the blackened discoloration. More importantly castor oil helps the swelling to come down and the pain to subside.
