Toenail infection treatment An over the counter treatment for healthy and shiny toe nails is to let them dip in a solution of Listerine mouthwash and water. Soak the tips of your feet till the nails are completely covered, in a tub containing one tablespoon of Listerine mouthwash to 2 parts of water. Apple cider vinegar is also known to ward off fungal infections and arrest further infection.
In a vessel of tepid water, add half a cup of cider vinegar and let the toenails be doused in them for at least 20 minutes. Repeat this process once every day for seven days. This will ensure that the fungal infection does not recur.
Another integral rule to follow is to never allow your feet to get stuffy and sweaty. This harbors harmful bacteria and causes the feet to stink and hamper the growth of healthy nails. Keep rotating your shoes as often as possible to prevent the foot from staying comfortable in an airless environment for too long. if possible it would be best if you could change your insoles as frequently too. Do not wear tight shoes that will bunch or stuff your toes uncomfortably. There must be room at the top of your shoe tips to prevent your feet from being too crammed. Tight shoes can cause the fungal infection to get further aggravated.
