Topically placing a piece of onion, on the area of pain helps. Damage to the nerve endings of a tooth also results in tooth ace. A broken or cracked tooth also gives rise to pain and inflammation.

An ice pack application at the affected area is beneficial. Impulses are transmitted across the nerves, thereby relieving pain. It is a safe and effective method of getting rid of toothache. Supplementation of vitamin C is helpful against pain and limejuice is a typical example.

Asafoetida, a gum used in regular cooking is a good remedy. Onion has a bacteriostatic activity and relieves pain. Garlic placed with rock salt is equally beneficial. Black pepper powder with a pinch f salt is a proven remedy for a sensitive tooth. Gargling the mouth with warm salt water has a static action on the microbes. Extract or juice of wheat grass exterminates the gum microbes and provides effective and instant relief. Prevention is better than cure. Good and hygienic care of the tooth makes it possible to keep pain at bay. A visit to a dentist is recommended.
