Giddiness remedy

I am in my 42 yrs femaile. I am having giddiness whilst walking in the afternoon - for about 1 year now. I am having thyroid problem. With giddiness i feel vomitting and no taste for my mouth. can u pls help me

Giddiness remedy

You have not mentioned what kind of thyroid problem you have. Is it hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism? The treatment approach will differ accordingly.


Since you mention giddiness, hypothyroidism is likely, but I would not like to comment without knowing exactly. I will give you general remedies for giddiness which will help you.

The causes for dizziness are varied and can range from impaired eyesight, middle ear problems, gas, tumour in the brain and certain kinds of drugs to nervous system issues.


It is impossible to make a diagnosis without investigating further. Please speak to your doctor to rule out anything serious.

  • There are the Cawthorne and Cooksey Exercises which are too lengthy to be described here. You can look them upon the net. They help improve balance and reduce giddiness.
  • Take a few pods of cardamom and grind them along with the husk. Make a decoction of  this powder with jaggery and take a teaspoon of it thrice a day.
  • Avoid the use of tobacco, alcohol and mood altering drugs.
  • Avoid foods that cause gas production and take a fiber supplement such a psyllium husk to help with BMs.
  • Do not come to a standing position from sitting or lying suddenly. Do it gradually and in steps.
  • Learning yoga or dancing will help you with vestibular system issues. In fact, this may be the one thing that will help the most.

Do write in again about the nature of your thyroid problem, or if possible with your thyroid test values so I can help you further.
