Well, the first thing that comes to mind is to advice you to stop smoking. But I guess, that will really not address your immediate problem. So here are a few tips that you may want to try out: 1. Drink a glass of warm water after you smoke. If its warm water not easy accessible, you can simply drink a glass of "room temperature" water. 2. Drinking warm tea (green tea) may help relieve the irritation in your throat. 3. Chew on hard candy or cough drops. This is stop the irritation in throat and also moisten it a bit. 4. Suck a cube of raw sugar. I hope this helps to some extent.
