Although there can be many reasons for constantly feeling cold, one of the main factors which can cause a constant feeling of shivering is hypothyroidism. The main signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism are-
- Skin being cold and thick with no sweating. Hair being frizzy and dry with a lot of hair loss.
- Easy bruising with slow wound healing and increased bleeding time.
- Constantly feeling cold and shivering.
- Puffiness of the hands and face and especially around the eyes.
There can other reasons for constantly feeling cold like-
- High stress levels which increase the levels of cortisol and adrenalin. These can decrease body temperature by causing constriction of all body vessels. If warm blood is not allowed to flow properly to the peripheries of your hands and feet, then you’ll definitely experience cold hands and feet.
- Anemia can also cause cold hands and feet. Get your hemoglobin levels checked immediately.
- Certain types of circulatory disorders can also decrease blood flow through peripheries causing shivering and cold. Are you a smoker? Smoking seems to exacerbate circulatory disorders so stop immediately.
You can try a few home remedies to ease the symptoms like, cayenne pepper capsules, and multivitamins. But if the problem persists please get a complete physical examination done by a doctor immediately.
