WHAT I SHOULD NOT EAT IF I HAVE PILES OR FISSURES

Begin with a good low-fat diet rich in fiber and calcium. For this reason, start the patient on an all vegetable meal plan for a minimum of at least seven days- 

  • Prescribe three healthy meals everyday of fresh fruits and veggies like apples, grapes and peaches. You can try seasonal fruits which are popular and rich in fiber too like melons, pears and pineapples.


  • Patient can take drinks like, plain lemonade or simple water or even coconut water to be taken everyday with the fruit and veggie diet.
  • You can also fast for a few days and cleanse out your system with the orange juice only one day.
  • A glass of warm water has to be taken once day early in the morning and if possible combine it with a warm water enema.  
  • The best fruits for piles are of fruits like apple,  papaya, watermelon, musk melon and pear.
  • The best green veggies are green leafy veggies like spinach, celery, leeks, whole meal cereals, milk products and milk.
  • Avoid all types of meat and meat based products especially highly processed foods like sausages and cold cuts.
  • Banish tea and coffee from your diet.
