Numbness of fingertips causes

My fingertips have been numb for the past few days. Not badly, and they don't tingle, but are just kind of numb. It is all ten of them. What might be the problem?

Numbness of fingertips causes

That is a non specific symptom and may be caused by several different conditions which I am listing below:

  1. Nerve damage
  2. Diabetic neuropathy
  3. Cervical Spondylitis
  4. Alcoholic Neuropathy
  5. Peripheral Vascular Disease
  6. Lupus
  7. Pernicuous Anemia
  8. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

This is by no means a comprehensive list and most of the conditions listed here are rather serious. You should consult with your doctor if numbness persists to rule out anything serious. There are some benign conditions that may be causing the problem that you might want to consider.

This may seem very obvious, but is it possible that your fingers are suffering frostbite?Try keeping your fingers warm and see if that helps. If you spend too much time on the computer, too much typing may be causing joint stiffness and inflammation. This is in fact what is known as Carpal Tunnel syndrome where your fingers get damaged from repetitive and jerky movements. Try and rest your fingers between repetitive movements. Take a break and rotate your wrists every now and then. Try doing all activities with minimum impact. If the problem persists, please see a chiropractor. If you see more serious symptoms along with numbness talk to your doctor at once.
