• Apply warm compress near the area of the boil. This will help to ripen the boil and drain it without pain.
  
• Calamine lotion or vitamin E cream has a cooling effect when applied to the open area. They will also fasten the healing period and minimize the chances of getting marks caused due to boils. Aloe vera gel is also very effective in a similar manner.
  
• Soak a piece on bread in cold milk and apply it on the boils under the skin. This is an effective remedy for boils.
  
• Avoid scratching the boils with nails to avoid marks. When a boil has already burst, it should be squeezed gently to drain the pus and cleaned to avoid further spreading of the infection.
  
• Have a balanced diet. Focus more on whole wheat products, fresh fruits and dark green leafy vegetables and lots of water.
  
• Minimize the intake of sugar, sweets, tea, coffee, pickles, oily/fried foods, junk foods, processed foods and refined flour (maida based products).
