It is sometimes normal for a baby to have low grade fever when he is teething However a high grade fever is not normal and if it remains for more than 2 days please consult a specialist for the same. Till then you can try these tips to relieve high fever -

  • Increase his fluid intake. Give him more of boiled water. He might avoid breast milk but feed him when he is hungry as the requirement of energy increases in fever.
  • If the fever is too high then you can apply cold compresses on his forehead. Take cold water in a bowl and add few drops of colon water in it. Then take a clean cotton cloth and dip in this water. Squeeze extra water and apply this cloth on his forehead. When the cloth becomes warm remove it from the forehead and repeat the process.

Consult a specialist if the fever is not under control as your child’s pediatrician would know better how to control the situation.
