Lice treatment

Lice cannot be prevented, as they are everywhere. Especially in crowded commuting place and community schools or gatherings, lice are bound to get transmitted from one head to another. For lice on your eyebrows or eyelashes, apply a generous coating of petroleum jelly two times a daily for at least a week.

The petroleum jelly suffocates the nits and the lice can then be easily removed.

Clothing should be thoroughly cleaned preferably washed in a hot water cycle and then thoroughly air-dried or dry cleaned in a laundry followed by stiff ironing. The stitches at the seams of the clothing must be absolutely examined and ironed carefully. For the hair, use apple cider vinegar as a conditioner. After a good shampooing with an anti-lice shampoo, the dead nits and lice will easily come off as you use equal parts of normal water mixed with vinegar. Vinegar helps dissolve the lice and wash away the remnants. Always remember to wash and disinfect your combs for prevention and further recurrence of lice. However do not directly disinfect your scalp with the same agents used for washing the combs. When searching the scalp for lice, do not use your fingers. Rather search through with a fine emery board of a piece of wooden stick resembling a toothpick. Fingernails tend to harbor the lice and these get back into the scalp once again.
