Natural cures for flatulence

No, Omega 3 fish oil does not cause flatulence. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, bacteria and digestive disorders are some of the reasons for flatulence.

Some remedies for flatulence

  • Mix one pinch each of rock salt and asafetida with ½ tsp of dry ginger powder and dissolve this mixture in 1 cup of warm water.


    Drink it for relief from flatulence.
  • Drink a solution made by dissolving 2 tsp of brandy in 1 cup of warm water before going to bed at night.
  • Soak some ginger slices in lemon juice and chew them after your meals.
  • Mix 1 drop of dill oil with 1 tsp of honey and have it after your meals regularly.
  • Grind 1 tsp of pepper, 1 tsp of ginger and 1 tsp of green cardamom seeds. Dissolve ½ tsp of this in 1 cup of water and drink it 1 hour after your meals.
  • Chewing peppermint after meals gives relief from bloating and abdominal pain as well. Menthol contained in peppermint calms the digestive muscles.
  • Chew your food carefully and never eat in a hurry.
  • Avoid foods containing fats and carbohydrates. Avoid beans, cauliflower, broccoli and certain pulses as they produce gas.
  • Exercise regularly if you frequently suffer from flatulence. Go for a stroll 1/2 an hour after the night meals.
