Natural treatment for insect bite
- Apply saliva to the bite first and then coat the bitten area with a wet soap, wet tobacco, wet mud or watered ammonia. You can also apply a mixture made from equal parts of vinegar and lemon juice.
- Use brown sugar instead of the white one as some studies show that people who consume sugar-free diet are not usually bitten by gnats, flies or mosquitoes.
- Apply some cucumber juice or Aloe Vera gel or the juice of its stem on the bitten area for cooling effect and as a protection against the mosquitoes.
- Fish, Brazil nuts and sunflower seeds are rich in thiamine (vitamin B1). Their regular consumption will prevent mosquito bites.
- Potted geraniums keep the mosquitoes away. Plant them in your house.
- Rub the uncovered areas with a clove of raw garlic, fresh parsley or some eucalyptus oil.
- Keep the clothes of your children dry as mosquitoes love dampness.
- Make your children wear long sleeved shirts or t-shirts.
- You can use mosquito repellant creams or gel and fix a mosquito net at might.
- Grind Rosemary seasoning and lavender oil in a bowl and mix them. Apply this mixture on the exposed skin as a protection against the bites.
