Natural remedies for motion sickness
- Swallow some ginger capsules an hour prior to beginning the journey. You can also drink either chamomile tea or peppermint tea.
- Keep some peppermint chocolates or capsules with you and have them when you start feeling sick.
- Eat something light before commencing the journey but do not overeat as an empty or full stomach may cause sickness.
- Do not get nervous thinking about it and avoid closing your eyes during the journey. Choose a front seat while traveling in a bus as backseats and the seats which are above the wheels cause and/or aggravate the problem.
While driving in a car, do the same. Some people feel sicker when they touch the back rest while some feel better that way. Check which position provides you with relief and continue doing so. - Wear motion sickness wrist band which work according to acupressure to control the nauseating feeling and are available at drug stores or health food stores.
- Cover your nose to keep away from such odors like the fumes coming from the engine, body odor or any other kind of strong smell.
- Suck on a lemon, a peeled piece of ginger root or a couple of olives during your journey. You can have 1 tsp of ginger juice or lemon juice before starting the journey.
