Peeling nails natural remedies

Peeling nails could be caused by several problems — one possibility is a fungal infection. With a fungal infection, your nails will also appear yellowish and cloudy. You can treat a mild fungal infection by immersing your hands (or feet) in a solution of vinegar and water twice a day.

For a more severe infection, this may not work, and you may need to visit a doctor. However, if all your nails are affected by this peeling, a fungal infection is unlikely. Fungal infections usually attack only one or two nails.

It is possible that the peeling is simply due to rough usage and a lack of care. Try treating your nails more gently and see if there is any improvement. If your nails seem dry, use a moisturizer on your hands and nails daily. Avoid using nail polish and nail polish remover too often. Also avoid any activities that require you to soak your hands (or feet) for long periods of time. If this is unavoidable, try using gloves to protect your hands. For a while, you should also try keeping your nails short.

Conditions such as yellow nail syndrome and psoriasis may also cause nails to peel, however these will be accompanied by other symptoms as well. If you are experiencing other symptoms, you should visit a doctor for a diagnosis.
