Burning sensation in the head causes

A burning sensation in the head may be caused by a vast gamut of diseases. These would range from a common cold, diabetes, hypertension, ear infection, stress, sunburn, migraines and tension headaches to something more serious such as a brain abscess or tumor. In order to determine if it is any of the above, or none of the above, you must go for a medical examination as soon as you possibly can.

This will help you to deal with the situation better and more effectively.

There are also some simple things you can try to check any kind of burning sensation at surface level. A cold pack on your head will instantly provide relief by numbing the area and then cooling it down. Massaging your head thoroughly with olive oil will reduce the burning sensation, although this is a totally peripheral measure that will take some time to act. You can also rub chilled milk into your scalp for relief from the burning sensation. Alternately, you can also use clarified butter, which also has healing properties. A simple way to clarify butter is to melt unsalted white butter till it is clear, then strain and use. You will get immediate relief by applying a paste of sandalwood powder and rose water in your scalp.
