Nail fungus remedies

Once I have cured the fungus, which I think I have because there's no soreness or anything anymore, do I wait for the discoloring of the nail to disappear or do I have to wait for the nail to grow out?

Nail fungus remedies

Nail fungus is a problem that can lead to discolored and distorted nails. If you manage to get rid of the infection and live fungus in your nail, it is still possible for a certain amount of discoloration or distortion to remain. In some rare cases the nail becomes a permanently distorted feature.

However, if the same thing happens with the color of the nail, you should know that there is help at hand.

There are several ways to improve the color of your nails that can be followed, especially once you have gotten rid of the infection. Start by soaking nails in a solution of one part hydrogen peroxide to two parts water and one whole lime squeezed in. This will clean and lighten the color of your nails.

Alternately, you can also use vinegar. Natural acids that make the chemical composition of these substances will help kill surface fungus if there is any left over as well. You must soak you nails for about 10 to 20 minutes and then wash off with soap and warm water and apply cold cream generously to avoid dehydration. If your nails have turned brown, you might have to use diluted bleach to make them lighter. Use a tablespoon of bleach in a bucket of water and soak your feet or hands for less than 10 minutes. Do not do this more than once a week.
