Ear wax can cause many problems some of which include pain, cough, cold and even hearing loss. It is important to remember excess ear wax which can cause problems. But remember not to go deep in the ear canal to remove all of it as ear wax actually protects the ear drum and the delicate ear skin.
If you have hard, stubborn and history of ear wax then please consult a specialist to remove the ear wax instead of removing it at home. You can try the following home remedies to get rid of excess ear wax –
To soften ear wax apply a mixture of vinegar, water and peroxide in 1:1:2 proportion respectively to the ear canal. Make this mixture warm ear to body temperature for maximum effect.
Place a drop of warm olive oil/baby oil in the ear once in a week to soften the wax and then irrigate the wax.
Fill a sterilized dropper with hydrogen peroxide. Put it in the ear canal and let it work for 5 minutes. Sit with a piece of cotton to clean the peroxide, flush the ear with water after 5 minutes.
Do not use pins, paper clips or tweezers to remove the wax as it would push the wax behind in to your ears and may even damage or scratch your ear drum.
