Burns home treatment

All of us get burnt at some time or the other. These are usually small burns, caused by some household accidents. These can usually be treated with some basic home remedies.

However if your burn injuries are serious, then a visit to the doctor is absolutely essential.

The first thing to do is to use lots of cold water to wash the burn injury. Washing a burn injury with milk usually helps.

If your injury is in a place where you cannot wash it comfortably, then simply dip a clean handkerchief in a bowl of milk and use this as a compress on the burn. However, care should be taken to wipe the burn later so that is clean. Once the burn is clean and dry, you can wrap it in a protective layer. Use a soft cloth to wrap the injury and give it some time to heal. A day later you can use water to clean it, always patting it dry. Aloe gel or the juice of from the leaf of aloe vera will help the injury heal better. When the injury dries up, you can puncture a capsule of Vitamin E and use the liquid from this to massage over the affected area. This can help to prevent the formation of scars later.
