Edema natural cures

The medical term for any unnatural swelling of the legs and feet or hands is edema. This is a condition that manifests itself most commonly during pregnancy, or as a result of water retention due to a high sodium diet. Sometimes, it also precedes the onset of the menstrual cycle in women.

In some cases, it could also occur when you sit for overly long periods of time with your feet dangling, in which case it would affect only your feet and legs.

One of the best ways to fight excessive water retention is to drink as much water as possible. This is the most effective way of flushing out excess water deposits and the reasons fro them from your body.

The second most important way to fight edema is to cut back on your salt intake, as salt absorbs water and keeps it within your body. You should first try to eliminate it if you can, since yours sounds like a severe case. Table salt should be eliminated completely and permanently. You must also make it a point to walk around, as this will boost circulation in your legs. Wiggle your toes for improved circulation in your toes. Lie down with your feet elevated at least as much as your head is, if not more. This will help reverse the blood flow and bring down the swelling.
