Boosting memory tips

Pimples are basically caused by blockages of the skin's pores. These blockages end up obstructing the sebaceous glands, which then results in a build up of sebum, the oily secretion that keeps the skin moist and protected. This condition is only slightly related to cleanliness, if at all.

The basic, underlying cause is not fully understood, but it is dead skin cells that typically cause pimples, rather than dirt. To some extent however, factors such as dirt and excessive make up can contribute to the problem. Cleanliness and hygiene can therefore help, by avoiding dirt, removing make up as soon as it is no more needed, and helping to clear dead skin cells from the skin.

It is extremely important not to press, pinch, squeeze, or pluck pimples, as this can cause infection and leave scars. Simply wash your face regularly through the day, mostly with plain water, but sometimes with a gentle soap. You can also apply slightly diluted lemon juice to your face, particularly the areas that are affected by the pimples.

Your diet may also need improvement — ensure that you do not consume too much oily food, caffeine, and colas, and that you are eating enough fruits and vegetables.

Boosting memory tips

Is there any particular reason why you think your child's memory needs improvement? People tend to have memory problems only much later in life. Forgetfulness in children is not a cause for concern, and is usually only because the child is distracted or uninterested in the things to be remembered — most likely their studies.

However, stress and a lack of sleep can also affect memory. If you are referring to memory problems relating to school work, this may be the case. If your child is stressed out due to too much pressure, and if he or she is losing out on sleep due to too much time spent studying, the child will not remember much of what has been studied. It is therefore better for your child to go to bed on time and get a full eight hours of sleep. A healthy, nutritious diet also helps memory — make sure that your child eats adequately at all meals, and that the meals are well balanced. Also ensure that your child does not make the common mistake of skipping breakfast, as this is possibly the most important meal of the day. You should also allow your child to play — another common mistake is to restrict play time for the sake of studies. However, physical activity improves the supply of oxygen to the brain, and thus helps improve brain function and memory.
