Toothache remedies First, make sure that your toothbrush does not have over-hard bristles. Harsh bristles can damage the soft inner tissues of the mouth and cause complications over time. Switch to a new toothbrush with softer bristles.
Gently brush your teeth and do not use excessive force. If you wish you can brush your teeth after every meal or at least twice a day, but make sure you use a softer brush and gentle movements. You could try a mix of cloves and peppermint leaf powder to gently rub over the gums. Blend a pinch of clove powder with a teaspoon of peppermint leaf powder and some anise powder. Gently rub it over teeth and gums using your forefinger or a toothbrush. Spit out the excess and let the remainder sit in the mouth for its therapeutic effect to take place.
Rinse your mouth with water and organic salt solution as this will both cleanse and help the healing process. You could also try a solution of water and tea tree oil but make sure you do not swallow any of this solution as tea tree oil has mild to severe side effects if ingested orally in large enough doses. You need to make sure that the mouth area is clean to avoid the risk of infecting the already hurt gums. Avoid eating food that is harsh on your hurt gums. Stick to soups and stews that do not require you to bite into them and do not leave excessive food residue in the teeth and gums. If the pain is persistent and unbearable consult a trained medical practitioner to avoid further complications.
