Lazy eye causes and cures

The lazy eye condition is also known as amblyopia, and this could start at a very young age. Lazy eye usually occurs only in one of the eyes and it results in dim, blurred, or reduced vision or a squint.

For a lazy eye, try to wear an eye patch over the other eye so that you will use your lazy eye to see.

You can wear this patch for a few hours while you are at home, but wear it on a daily basis. However, keep in mind that you would need to follow such a treatment for many weeks before you see any signs of improvement. Alternatively, you could use some adhesive patch on the good eye.

In terms of dietary recommendations, include vegetables that are rich in Vitamin A, magnesium, and zinc.
But if these home remedies do not help, do visit your ophthalmologist. An early treatment of amblyopia is important; because if you do not provide the required medical attention for the lazy eye, you might have impaired vision. Your ophthalmologist might recommend that you wear spectacles with prescription lenses for the lazy eye. Also, keep in mind that some conditions of the lazy eye disease might require surgery.
