Home Remedies for swollen leg
Leg swelling may encompass a host of problems both internal and external. Determine the cause of the swelling before you set to treat it. If the swelling has been caused due to an injury, then there is a perfect remedy in slippery elm root.
Believed to be one of the most beneficial treatments in healing injures, lesions, carbuncles, minor burns and swelling caused due to trauma, slippery elm root poultice effectively combats these issues and heals the area. It affords physical relief, and is a perfect home remedial measure to bring down the physical distress and inflammation.
To prepare the poultice, take a teaspoon of the powdered herb and mix it with just enough water to form a thick paste. Use this paste to spread it on a clean cloth and let it remain. When the paste has cooled down, fold the cloth with the paste and tie it to the affected part. This poultice does a brilliant job of bringing down any kind of swellings. It can also be prepared to treat boils, wounds, and swollen glands. If there is body hair present on the affected part, then apply a coating of olive oil on the face of the cloth before the poultice is tied around the skin.
