Natural Treatment for Athlete's Foot

The condition known as athlete's foot is due to a fungus that multiplies when the feet have been damp and moist for long periods. Moreover footwear that causes the feet to sweat is also a main culprit in harboring smelly feet. However it takes some time to get rid of this menace as you need to treat the foot area that has been affected and also take methods in getting rid of the conditions that cause the fungus to grow, in the first place.


Ensure that your feet stay dry at all times. In between the toes are areas where the fungus can breed rapidly and also cause further itching and infections. If you wear closed shoes, wear only cotton socks that allow your skin and feet to breathe.


Simple cornstarch powder makes for a terrific foot powder. Dust this generously on your feet when you are in indoors. It will help in absorbing the excess moisture and sweat from your feet.

Apply tea tree oil to the affected areas where there is infection. A few drops of the essential oil put applied on the foot overnight will get kill off the bacteria and fungus and keep the feet smelling fresh and clean. Tea tree oil must be used daily for a week to notice the gradual results.
